Who and What is Ski Country UniServ?
Ski Country UniServ is the Northwestern Field Office of the Colorado Education Association, an affiliate of the National Education Association.
The Ski Country UniServ Unit encompasses the CEA/NEA local associations in 12 school districts within nine northwestern Colorado counties. Our 14 locals include a Higher Education Local and an ESP Local.
The Higher Education local is the Mountain EA at Colorado Mountain College. The ESP local is the Summit County Educational Support Professionals.
The local education Associations are Aspen, Eagle County, East Grand, Hayden, Jackson County, Lake County, Moffat County, Roaring Fork, South Routt, Steamboat Springs, Summit County, and West Grand.
There are approximately 1140 members in Ski Country UniServ.
There are 42 elementary schools, 16 middle schools, and 19 high schools in Ski Country. Of the 42 elementary schools six are charter schools.
Why is it called Ski Country?
Of the 25 ski areas listed in Colorado, 17 are within the Ski Country UniServ boundaries.
